Capricorn Full Moon and Everything else!!

On July 21, 2024, at 12:17 CEDT, the Moon reaches its full illumination in the sign of Capricorn. This event marks the second Capricorn Full Moon of the summer, with the first one occurring on the 21st June.

There are key themes associated with Full Moon. First, lets have a look at the diagram for a visual. This chart is particular to Malta at the time of the Full Moon.

So - there's a Full Moon at 29 degrees of Capricorn (with the Sun at 29 degrees in Cancer). The Sun is about to change sign, and this is precisely the energy of this lunar event. This is what astrologers call the anaretic degree and it suggests that something is about to change. Having acquired all the knowledge and wisdom acquired from the Cancerian journey, we are now ready to jump into a new reality. That's the gist of it.

But wait! That Pluto is sitting on the Full Moon! Gosh - Pluto demands nothing less than transmutation and transformation. It does nothing by halves.

Neptune, the planet associated with utopian dreams and dystopian disillusion is 60 degrees (sextile) away from that Moon/Pluto conjunction. It is also at the anaretic degree.

Then there is the Mars-Uranus conjunction. This was exact on the 15th, a few hours after the attempted assassination on President Trump. Mars is energy, fuel power; it represents what makes you want to get out of bed in the morning. Uranus is revolutionary, sudden and represents that 'bolt out of the blue'. Together it is rocket-powered chaos. To this, add Algol, the most malefic star in the heavens. 'Tis a recipe for danger.... and indeed there was.

Lastly, there is Venus, who is Lord of the chart because her sign of Libra lies on the Ascendant.

So what are the themes for this action-packed Full Moon? Read on.

Uncomfortable Truths: The July 2024 Full Moon in Capricorn brings forth powerful energies, especially for those born with planets in the late degrees of Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) and the early degrees of Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius). It exposes uncomfortable truths  from the past, urging us to acknowledge and address them.

Maturation and Responsibility: The spotlight falls on the Cancer-Capricorn polarity, emphasizing themes related to family, maturity, and self-responsibility. This full moon represented the completion of a chapter in our personal growth journey.

Breaking Point: The full moon occurs at the 29ยบ degree of Capricorn, known as the “anaretic degree.” This point signifies a powerful turning point, where issues often reach their breaking point. Add plutonic power to that.... ha!

So, let's put these transiting planets on the birthchart for Malta. I think you'll agree with me that there are quite a few meeting points. First of all, note how Venus, the planet associated with relationships, networking and resources is completing a cycle. She will soon return to her natal position at 13 degrees of Leo. This adds weight to the theme of change coming from the completion of a journey. Neptune is at the top of the chart, at the anaretic degree, emphasising the theme of completion (and the ensuing confusion).

Lastly - and this cannot be overlooked - that Mars-Uranus conjunction is on Malta's Jupiter (which occupies the same degree as Algol - the Medusa - where heads will be cut off). This is another indication that change is the main theme of this Full Moon.

I hope you enjoyed reading this!

Blessings,

Cindy
