The Mid-Autumn Moon and a dove.

Image
The Full Aries Moon at 14 degrees occurs tomorrow morning at 05:47, after which it sets in the western horizon. In Asian cultures, this is known as the Autumn Moon. The Autumn Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is celebrated across many Asian countries including China, Vietnam, Korea and Malaysia. Held on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, it honours the full moon and the harvest season. Families gather to share mooncakes - round pastries symbolising unity - and admire the moon's brilliance. Lanterns light up streets and homes. In Vietnam, it is a joyful children's celebration, while in Korea, Chuseok blends ancestral rituals with feasting.   The New Moon two weeks ago had quite a different vibe - yet this Full Moon is still under the influence of that moon as it is part of the cycle which began two weeks ago on the 21st September which was also a solar eclipse. So let's look at the story the sky is offering us.  An Aries Moon is all about initia...

Lunar Eclipse in Virgo and .... how to deal with it!

Image
As promised, we'll take a look at the chart of the Lunar Eclipse on the 14th March 2025 and what story the sky was offering at that point in time. Lunar eclipses are said to bring closures, revelations, and transformative shifts. This particular eclipse in Virgo encourages the letting go of perfectionism and outdated systems that no longer serve you. It’s a moment to declutter both mentally and physically, creating space for sustainable growth and harmony. The Virgo-Pisces axis, activated during this eclipse, highlights the need to balance practicality (Virgo) with intuition and spirituality (Pisces). That's the gist of it. But wait, there's more.  One of the first things one notices about this lunar eclipse is that many of the planets seem to be on one side of the chart, and indeed they are splayed between Pisces and Aries. If you think of it as a bus, with the front wheels and the back wheels, it looks like (with the exception of the Moon) Mars the warrior is leading, p...

And the guns are blazing!! Note to self - chill!

Welcome to the Aries Full Moon which occurs on the 17th October at around 13:30. That evening, the Moon will rise in the east in a spectacular fashion. Since the beginning of summer we've had some powerful alignments and this month is no different. Just look at all the planets at twenty something degrees of a sign!  First of all, we need to look at the grand square in the chart. The Sun is opposite the Moon - that is typical of the Full Moon. This FM is in Aries, that is, warrior energy. The planet that rules Aries is Mars, which lies in Cancer at the moment. Mars' placement in this sign could be described as the warrior who defends the homeland (Cancer rules the home). Mars lies opposite Pluto, the planet associated with death and transformation. Death is a metaphor here for something coming to an end, which then transmutes and transforms into something new. Such is the principal energy of this Full Moon. When you consider what is going on in the world, one wonders whether ...

Solar Eclipse and its links to 1501....

And here it is... the chart for the New Moon in Aries, also a total solar eclipse. I've been reading a lot of different takes on this eclipse. Let me explain why there are different views on it.  Fact number one: different astrologers will have different takes on it depending on what they see in the chart. That is why astrology is not only a science, but also an art. This is why I suggest reading a variety of interpretations of astrological perspectives on this eclipse (or any other, for that matter) and see what you can take from it.  Fact number two: eclipses do not affect everyone in the same way. It makes sense that if you are the leader of an organisation, what you are dealing with may affect others. A prime example is the  current Prince of Wales' chart. Prince William was born on the day of a solar eclipse (I mentioned this in a few of my posts on this blog). This, in itself, is not unusual as eclipses do occur bi-annually. However, as the future King of Eng...

Aries Full Moon and the Rabbit Hole

Image
It's been quite a hectic week for me (started school) and so this blog post is late.  Yesterday, the 29th September, there was a glorious full moon gracing our night skies. This is an Aries Full Moon which is highly energised and is a precursor to next month's eclipse season.  Just have a look at the photo taken from the yard of my abode! Glorious, isn't it? This moon, people, is the final supermoon of 2023. A supermoon looks larger than our usual full moons due to the proximity of the Moon to Earth at the time of the full moon.  An Aries full moon is a fiery one. The real star of the show is still Venus as she squares (90 degrees) Uranus in the Full Moon Chart. Given that Venus represents love, money or how you network with others, it is possible that this placement offers up challenges to do with finances or our relationships with significant others. A Venus/Uranus combination usually brings with it a 'flash in the pan' situation where you suddenly find yourself...

Jupiter and Sun conjunct today!

Image
Good morning - this is just a quick post to highlight a celestial event happening at the moment. Jupiter, the planet to do with expansion and joy, is conjunct the Sun at 21 to 22 degrees of Aries. Jupiter is travelling with the Sun which means this planet is not visible by night.  Jupiter conjunct (occupying the same space) the Sun is a very fortunate aspect, so if you have anything between 20 to 23 degrees in Aries or Libra, Pisces or Virgo, Aquarius or Leo, and Capricorn or Cancer, this is a highly auspicious sign. It signifies growth and expansion with benefic results.  Let's give an example. This is the aspect that this heavenly conjunction is making to a person's chart who has their own natal Mercury at 21 degrees of Cancer. Mercury in Cancer speaks of communcation as a means of nurturing (Mercury in Cancer) within the area of groups and organisations (11th house). The Jupiter-Sun conjunction is happening of the 8th house (to do with other people's resources). Canc...

New Moon in Aries at the Spring Equinox

Image
On the 21st March, 2023, just after sunset, the Sun goes into 0 degrees of Aries, marking the beginning of the Spring season in the northern hemisphere.  It is not every year that there is a New Moon on the Equinox, when the Sun reaches the first point of Aries. This event will mark the beginning of a new lunar cycle and an excellent opportunity for us to set intentions and start new projects. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and is known for its bold and assertive nature. It is a fire sign, which symbolizes passion, creativity, and action. When the New Moon is in Aries, we are encouraged to embrace our inner warrior and take bold steps towards achieving our goals. The New Moon in Aries is a time of new beginnings, and we are urged to take action and seize opportunities. It is a time to break free from old patterns, habits, and limiting beliefs that may be holding us back. We are encouraged to be brave, take risks, and trust our instincts.  It is also a great ...

Full Moon in Aries, a king and a neighbour!

Image
The Aries Full Moon (well, the Moon is opposite the Sun in Libra) occurs tomorrow at almost 11:00pm. The Moon will be high in the sky, and the twinkling planet close to it is Jupiter, so do look out for that. Mars will be rising on the eastern horizon, and Saturn will be visible towards the southeastern sky.  Much has been said about Venus in astrological forums, as 'she' is travelling with the Sun, and therefore cannot be seen during the day. Because of the shape of Venus' orbit, she is never far away from the Sun in an astrological chart. Indeed, it is never more than two zodiac signs away. You might be a Taurus - doing things slowly and methodically, but your Venus is in Gemini - socialising and information are done with ease and also with speed. So Let's have a bit of fun.... Since Vlad has been in the news so much lately, what is his Sun/Venus combo? This is just for a bit of fun, as it is common knowledge, apparently, that KGB agents never give about personal de...

Full Moon in Aries... and other musings

Image
On the 20 th October, at 16:56, the Moon will be directly opposite the Sun in the sign of Aries. Aries is the sign associated with spring, the season which brings forth new ideas, projects and also high energy. Looking at the chart of this   Full Moon, the most noticeable aspect is the position of Mars. It is very close to the Sun, both in the sign of Libra. If you refer back to the New Moon in Libra blog, you’ll remember that Mars’ energy is ‘contained’ in some way by being in Libra. If Mars is all about initiating action, Libra is about maintaining harmony; in this sense, Mars’ energy is poured into maintaining the status quo. However, Mars is also opposite the Moon and square Pluto. So let’s unpack this. Mars opposite a full moon means there is going to be some level of frustration, possibly resulting in arguments. Think of a see-saw with the Moon on one side and Libra on the other – it’s all a question of balance. However, with Pluto at 90 ° to both the Moon and Mars, you...
