And the guns are blazing!! Note to self - chill!

Welcome to the Aries Full Moon which occurs on the 17th October at around 13:30. That evening, the Moon will rise in the east in a spectacular fashion. Since the beginning of summer we've had some powerful alignments and this month is no different. Just look at all the planets at twenty something degrees of a sign!

First of all, we need to look at the grand square in the chart. The Sun is opposite the Moon - that is typical of the Full Moon. This FM is in Aries, that is, warrior energy. The planet that rules Aries is Mars, which lies in Cancer at the moment. Mars' placement in this sign could be described as the warrior who defends the homeland (Cancer rules the home). Mars lies opposite Pluto, the planet associated with death and transformation. Death is a metaphor here for something coming to an end, which then transmutes and transforms into something new. Such is the principal energy of this Full Moon. When you consider what is going on in the world, one wonders whether we stand on the precipice of something new, given the highly tense situation in the Middle East and also the upcoming US elections, where the voters in the United States are highly polarised.

Next to consider is the Venus/Uranus opposition. Venus is at the anaretic degree in the deeply emotional sign of Scorpio. It smacks of 'last chance saloon' and opposite Uranus, it could suggest that a bolt out of the blue would see an opportunity for transformation. Venus is also sextile (60 degrees) Pluto and this means that the Venus/Uranus energy is fed into the Pluto/Mars/Sun/Moon equation. Let's get real, this is not 'let's give peace a chance' stuff. The challenge will be not allowing one's aggression to be the main agent in this month's chart.

There are also some fixed stars which seem to be making a statement in this Full Moon chart. The fixed stars Algol, Pollux and Spica are also feeding into that FM energy, suggesting that getting one's own way could open the door for unfortunate events to follow. Spica is the alpha star in the constellation Virgo, the only female depicted in the sky. It usually portends good fortune, and yet we also have the benefic planet Jupiter connecting with Bellatrix, the star in the left shoulder of Orion. It is also called the Amazon after the female warrior and confers great military honours if actions are honourable, otherwise it can bring dishonour due to hastily made decisions.

But what of us lesser mortals? How does this Full Moon affect us?

Should we decide to act with integrity and allow our better judgement to operate outside of that 'angry place', then we may have a good chance of making our lives better. Keep your focus high. The New Moon chart for the 1st of November may be better but still retains some of this Full Moon's elements. Let's try to chill....life is too valuable to burn all our bridges.

I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Blessings abound,

Cindy
