Catching up on the Lunar Cycles and more....
First of all, I'd like to present my apologia for not posting my solar eclipse report for the 29th March. The truth is my workload needed my total attention and priorities are what they are.
So, I aim to present all the information here, starting with the 29th March New Moon and also the Full Moon of the 13th April.
Also important is the number of planets that have gone direct or changed sign. I hope you will find this all very interesting.
The New Moon chart of the 29th March had a number of interesting placements. First of all, an Aries new moon is a fire moon, with its ruler Mars very prominently placed on the ascendant at 22 degrees of Cancer. We must remember that Mars had been backtracking through Cancer it its retrograde period and is now moving forwards. At 22 degrees it is conjunct the fixed star Pollux. This solar eclipse is only a partial one, which means it is not as powerful as a total eclipse. Still, eclipses in any form are not considered fortunate. It does, however, bring a surge of bold energy and transformation thanks to its Aries nature. It signifies a new beginning, encouraging emotional independence and visionary thinking. Note how Mercury and Venus are retrograde, which slows down one's ability to make things go. Neptune adds a touch of fog, so lack of clarity is prominent. Mars in Cancer is about acting in order to protect. Okay - that's a good thing - but what if the information is incorrect? The action will only complicate matters. Patience is the key. Neptune, the planet associated with illusions and delusions is about to change sign (see chart: its poised at the anaretic degree) and this has great significance as it is a slow moving planet.
Where does this solar eclipse hit your chart? Wherever Aries is in your chart, something is about to change. One way of looking at it is that as the Moon hides the Sun, as it moves away, something will come to light (as the saying goes). This could be a realisation.
So, the underlying message with this solar eclipse is to wait, things will become clearer.
Onto the next planetary event. On the 30th of March, the gas giant Neptune changed sign. This is big news! Neptune's transition from Pisces to Aries marks a significant shift. Neptune in Pisces emphasised themes of interconnectedness, spirituality and dissolving boundaries. In Aries, the focus shifts to individuality, courage and assertiveness. This is a little intense, as Aries' fiery energy contrasts with Neptune's dreamy nature. The trick is to balance visionary ideals with practical action.
Think back to the 7th April and try to recollect whether any communication-type activity which was hitherto awry righted itself. Yup, Mercury stationed direct at 26 degrees Pisces. Venus, which was also retrograde, also stationed direct yesterday on the 12th April, shortly before today's Full Moon. This shift marks the end of a reflective period that began on the 1st of March, where unresolved issues and values were revisited. Now that it is moving forward, the fog lifts somewhat (Neptune is close by... so some fog is still there), so look for insights into what truly matters.
Which brings us to the Full Moon in Libra happening today 13th April 2025. With Neptune moving into a new sign, and the energy of the preceding solar eclipse being something that signalled confusion, this chart heralds a very nice breakthrough. First of all, the Moon in Libra speaks of emotional balance. The Moon is also conjunct the fixed star Spica which is considered by the ancients to be a fortunate star. Also, for the first time this calendar year, all the planets are moving forward (no retrograde motion). The Sun in Aries is about giving birth to new initiatives, and with Neptune gracing this sign, there is an element of idealism. Venus and Saturn together speak of caution in relationships and money matters, whilst Mercury trine Mars is about communicating effectively and acting accordingly.
The blue isosceles triangle in the chart above is a formation known as a yod. The yod is often called the "Finger of God" and is a rare and powerful aspect pattern in astrology. It usually involves three planets, where two are 60 degrees apart and both form a 150 degree aspect to a third at the apex. This configuration creates a dynamic and intense energy symbolising a unique life purpose or karmic mission. In this case, this is a Full Moon chart, where we can look back at what was initiated at the new moon and say "THAT'S why". The apex focal point is the Moon itself and speaks of our emotional growth and intuition.
One more point, the Moon in the Full Moon chart makes contact with no less than six planets (Mars, Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Uranus and Mars), something which is quite unusual. And for once, the energy of this chart is somewhat gentler than what we have been looking at over the past few months. So sit back and take time out to be gentle to yourself. You're doing okay.
(Note: on the 18th April, Mars moves into Leo after a long period of travelling back and forth through Cancer. On the 25th April it will be directly opposite Pluto again. More about that in the next blog post!)
I hope you enjoyed reading this.
Blessings,
Cindy
