A New Moon in Taurus and a Pope
Welcome to the New Moon in Taurus, happening on the 27th April at 21:31. In astrology, a new moon symbolizes fresh beginnings and opportunities. It marks the start of the lunar cycle, occurring when the moon aligns with the sun in the same zodiac sign. This phase is associated with setting intentions, planting seeds for future growth, and embracing change. The energy of a new moon encourages introspection, helping individuals connect with their inner selves and clarify their goals. It’s a powerful time for manifestation and renewal. It's a good time for planting new seeds not only in terms of setting a new pattern, but also a time for sowers to plant seeds (just in case you like gardening!).
At the time of writing, a pope is being given a send-off. Pope Francis' funeral will be the main focus of attention this weekend, with many dignitaries flooding the Vatican Square, many of whom are controversial figures in their own right. Twelve reigning monarchs will be attending (surely this is a representation of the 12 zodiac signs). Such an event surely warrants some attention, but first, let's look at the story the sky is offering us at this Taurus New Moon.
The first thing that jumps out at us is the Mars/Pluto opposition. For a long while, Mars was travelling backwards, then forwards, through the sign of Cancer. Mars is the warrior energy, and in Cancer this means that the warrior was concerned with defending the tribe, the homestead. Now in Leo, Mars in Leo ignites a fiery, passionate energy, inspiring bold action and creative expression. It fuels confidence and leadership, making individuals magnetic and courageous. With charisma and determination, they thrive in challenges. However, watch for stubborn pride. This placement is a powerhouse of ambition, blending vitality, drama, and fearless individuality.
Note how that Mars/Pluto makes an aspect of 90 degrees to the New Moon. This means that there is a tremendous amount of transformation (Pluto) and will (Mars) to starting something new. Well, putting it into context, the Pope was buried this morning, and within a few days a conclave will look for the Catholic Church's new leader. To this add the three planets - Venus, Saturn and Neptune around or close to 0 degrees of Aries, a sign associated with birthing something new.
Another powerful point is Uranus' position at 26 degrees of Taurus. If you look at the biwheel (Pope Francis birth chart at the centre, and the funeral chart on the outside), you will notice that today the Sun's position is exactly conjunct PF's natal Uranus. Also note that the highest point in the sky at the time of the funeral is the same part of the sky as Saturn in PF's natal chart (symbolic of how a leader reaches his fulcrum, if you like)
One more thing..... we do have a time of his 'last breath'. Guess which planet was rising over the eastern horizon?
Yes, Uranus! (see picture). That in itself tells us that he's passing was not expected (after all, he was on the Vatican Balcony the previous day). There's more - why not throw in a Pluto/Moon conjunction on the highest point in the sky for good measure? The sky speaks!I hope you enjoyed reading this. It is not so much about a Taurus New Moon as it is about the events in Rome today, Saturday 26th April. As I was writing this, realisations just kept coming as I was pondering the charts and ....well....it just shows us there's more to the sky than meets the eye.
Blessings,
Cindy
