Times are a-changing....

This is the second Virgo New Moon in a calendar month and if you hadn't noticed by now, the world has changed significantly since the New Moon at the beginning of the month. That in itself is a sign of the times, and whereas before it took days for news of events to reach news portals, we now see it live on a screen. The thing is, even if we see it on TV or online, we now doubt whether what we see is the truth. I mention this because Virgo is a sign ruled by Mercury the Messenger. The Sabian symbol for six degrees of Libra is "the ideals of a man abundantly crystallised". Ideals are made crystal clear - unlike the fogginess of reality we deal with at the moment.  But there's more to this very powerful New Moon than that. Let's look at the story the sky is offering us at this time.

Look at the diagram to understand the different aspects of tomorrow's eclipse chart. To begin with, kite formations in astrology are generally seen as a beneficial aspect where destiny takes flight - an idea becomes possible, which is where the Sabian symbol tells us this. The triangle part of the kite formation involves all the planetary 'heavies' - Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and Pluto - all planets to do with doing something differently. The tail planet (in this case the lights - Sun and Moon) are at the tail end of Virgo at 29 degrees. This is called the 'anaretic' degree, where all lessons of Virgo - discernment - have been learned. In short, this speaks of change, change, change.

Then we have Mars square Pluto - there is enough fire power to get this change to go ahead. Jupiter loosely (within a 7 degree orb) trines Saturn, signifying a harmony between the two planets. Jupiter is being gracious to Saturn as the latter is a 'guest' in his domain (Jupiter rules Pisces). Venus forms a square - challenge - to Uranus, adding a dose of 'coldness' to that Venus in Virgo, who demands high standards in anything.

The whole vibe, therefore, is one of action (Mars) to balance the status quo (Mars in Libra). The moment is a great one as the solar eclipse is a point of destiny. We are letting go (anaretic degree). Change is coming. We are challenged to create something new.

This is global. Locally, we have something interesting: this New Moon connects with the Malta chart. Briefly put, the kite formation hits the Malta chart (21 September 1964 at 12:00am) at both the MC and the IC (zenith and nadir respectively). This is about Malta's public face and its home base.

One might remember that two weeks ago the party in opposition elected  a new party leader (on the day of a lunar eclipse). Throughout history eclipses were never seen as positive as the idea is that 'light' is being hidden, or eclipsed, and if that is anything to go by, the results of that election of party leader left people asking questions. Having said this, King Charles III was crowned less that 24 hours after a lunar eclipse and that is that.  Will this eclipse hit the Malta chart in any significant way? The astrology suggests it will. How it will be played out remains to be seen.

All in all, this solar eclipse is about letting go. Ask for inner guidance about what it is that no longer serves you. Look back to the year 2006 and see what changes occurred in your life and what you had to let go of. Eclipses portend change and if you look for the 29th degree of Virgo in your chart, see which part of the chart it hits. It should point to which area of your life will undergo a profound change. In my case, the 29th degree of Virgo rules the area of the chart to do with what you value and how you manage your assets. In 2006 I found myself having to adjust to a huge change in our family life which affected money issues. But it was just that - change. The drama lay in the reaction. This year - who knows? The lesson here seems to be - let go, the landscape is changing.

Prior to 2006, another eclipse at 29 degrees of Virgo occurred in 1968, when times were also 'a-changing'. Bob Dylan's song....the message is timeless.

I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Blessings,

Cindy
