December 12th, 2021
I mentioned in my last post that I’ve been following the
movement of Venus in the sky. She’s been quite prominent in the night sky this
month, being even brighter than Jupiter, because of her proximity to Earth.
I’ve also become interested in this planet because in doing
some research on the Maltese national chart (the astrological chart for the
moment when Malta became independent – 21/09/1964 at 00:00hrs CET+1), I found
that the position of Venus at 13°Leo
is repeated or reflected in quite a few of Malta’s prime ministers.
I’ve also mentioned before that yes, countries can have
birth charts. This leads to another question – how can you tell when a country
is ‘born’? To be truthful, it really depends on whether the astrologer finds a
chart ‘works’. Take the chart of the United Kingdom; some astrologers find the
1066 chart (when William of Normandy was crowned king of England on Christmas
Day at midday), whereas others use the Act of Union Chart (Jan 1st,
1801) as it works well for them.
Tomorrow is Republic Day in Malta. On the 13th December 1974, Malta declared itself to be a republic, installing Sir Anthony Mamo as its first president. The chart for Republic Day is very different than the Independence Chart. Venus, for starters, in this chart, is not in the sign of Leo, but in the very business-like sign of Capricorn, at 0°.
Having said that, if we look at the sign at the highest point in the sky (called the midheaven), we find the zodiac sign Sagittarius, which is all about growth and expansion. The sign on the eastern horizon (called the Ascendant) is Aquarius, which is all about new ideas. Well, if nothing else, it describes the government of that time’s intentions; that of moving Malta into a new position on the world stage. More about this another day – let’s move back to Venus.
Astrologically, Venus
is occupying the same portion of sky as Pluto, the planet to do with
transformation. Venus and Pluto combined are a kind of obsessive love vibe;
think of the most heart-wrenching love story you have read/watched, something
of a tear-jerker, and you get the gist. Pluto and Venus are together at 25° of Capricorn.
How might this be played out? Well – it all depends where this lands in your personal birth chart. If you have anything at 25°Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra, then you are likely to be involved or witness to some intense event. Whatever the case, our heavenly lady is about to do a moonwalk and go what astrologers call ‘retrograde’ (an apparent backwards motion – of course planets cannot go backwards… it just looks like it). If you want to check how this will affect your chart, you need to see which area of your personal birth chart this Venus-Pluto conjunction falls in. You can do this by find a website which calculates your astrological birth chart (for example, https://astro.cafeastrology.com/natal.php does this).
Your birth chart is divided into 12 parts, and each part is designated a particular area of life’s experiences. If these two planets are transiting House number 1, for example, then there is a sense of intensity surround issues to do with the first house. The house numbers with their related issues are indicated below. To give an example, that Venus Pluto conjunction is going past (transiting) House number 5 of creativity and self-expression. So that intensity may be experienced through my creativity and the need to express myself. So I write blog entries 😊
Comets, conjunctions...quite a lot to take on, isn't it?
I hope you enjoyed this article. Stay tuned for an interesting blog post linking Pluto to the discovery of Grandmaster Ximenes' long lost remains.
Blessings
