Full Moon in Gemini...and more about Venus
Full Moon in Gemini
Hello everyone! Apologies for uploading this a few hours later than I intended to. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this bit of writing about this morning's Full Moon.
The Full Moon on the 18th of December falls in Gemini, the sign of the Twins. This event occurred at 05:35 this morning with the moon setting in the west.
Full Moons
in Gemini usually highlight issues to do with communication and movement and
pertain to all those things which concern how we move about and commune in
daily life. As Mercury rules this full moon (Mercury rules the sign of Gemini),
we should look to its position in the chart and whether it makes any aspects to
another planet or point (such as the Midheaven).
In the
chart, Mercury is at 8° of Capricorn and trines (120° to another planet/point) Uranus, which is currently at 11° of Taurus, so watch out for inspirational,
brilliant, out-of-the-box ideas. Mercury is also out-of-bounds (a term which
means its declination is more that 23 degrees 27 minutes north or south) and
has the ‘genius’ touch’.
The Full
Moon at 27° of Gemini makes
a favourable aspect to the ever-beneficial Jupiter, so this particular full
moon should feel like a nice one. There's more it this picture, however. Read on....
Venus, in this chart, is still very close to Pluto – one degree apart. She is also stationary (indicated in the chart by an ‘S’). When Venus and Pluto come together in a chart, there is a lot of intensity about, and also a sense of fated-ness about it. She will be doing her retrograde motion until the 29th January 2022, when she turns direct at 11° Capricorn. She will then move forward but it will not be until 1st March 2022 that she arrives at the place she originally left from. In astrology, this is called ‘the shadow’. So, Venus leaves her ‘shadow’ on the 1st March. The total amount of days retrograde is 40, which is a mystical number used over and over again to describe events in the Old and New Testament (the Bible).
So what is
the overall flavour of this Full Moon? Depending on where it falls in your
chart, the overtone is one of enhanced communication skills and also a sense of
something happening below the surface that needs expression. It might be worth
keeping in mind that we are about to go into our winter months here in Malta.
January is usually the time when socialising is quiet (even more so now that
the number of Covid-19 cases is rising rapidly). The fact that Venus is
entering the underworld today, and will not be out of her ‘shadow’ until the 1st
of March, might tell us something about how we have to step back and re-evaluate
those structures (Venus is in Capricorn, the zodiac sign typically to do with structures;
the business world, systems in general).
I hope you
find this interesting.
Blessings,
Cindy
