Pluto offers up a grandmaster....
Sometimes I feel that the universe sends me down a rabbit hole to piece together bits of a jigsaw. In a previous blog entry, I made mention of how astrologers try to see patterns. When two planets come together in the sky, the question usually asked is ‘what happened the last time these two planets came together?’. That was the question I asked when writing up the blog entry for the 12th December 2021. By no means am I extraordinarily knowledgeable when it comes to these affairs. There are some formidable astrologers out there and I love to read their findings.
Here’s one for you and I think you will enjoy this.
Venus and Pluto are together in the sky this month. I pondered
this event’s meaning, and thought, did anything of interest happen in Malta the
last time these two planets came together at this degree of Capricorn. Pluto is
currently at 25° of Capricorn
(astrologically) and because I was aware that the US national chart of 1776 has
Pluto close to that degree (in fact, the US is currently facing the return of
Pluto to its natal position, signalling a kind of rebirth – but that’s another
story). I checked the ephemeris, and sure enough, on the 13th
January 1775, Venus and Pluto came together at 25° Capricorn.
History tells us that that year, on the 8th September (1775) – funny how the 8th September recurs in our history – there was an uprising; the priests/clergy rose against the Order (of the knights of St.John of Jerusalem) because of austerity measures the Grandmaster of the time, Francisco Ximenes, had implemented. He quickly quashed the revolt and some of the priests were sentenced to death, its leader sentenced to prison (and subsequently freed by Napoleon some twenty years later). Ximenes died soon after, on the 9th November 1775.
Here’s the thing; Ximenes did not leave any money for his
own funeral, so his remains were placed in a lead coffin encased with wood and
laid to rest in the cathedral of St.John’s in Valletta.[1]
Pluto was at 25°.
Leap forward to 3rd December 2021. Fra Matthew Festing, Grandmaster of the Order, was laid to rest in the crypt of St.John’s, leading to the discovery of Grandmaster Ximenes’ remains. Where was Pluto? At 25°Capricorn – a full 246 years later. Pluto had returned to the position it was in in 1775 and offered up a grandmaster.
Fascinating, don’t you think?
Cindy
Addendum
I posted the above two hours ago. Since then, my fingers wandered over to check the position of Pluto the day the Knights of the Order of St.John of Jerusalem took over the islands of Malta on the 13th November in 1530: this planet had just crossed over into the 26th degree of Capricorn. Blown away by this.
