So what's happening up there.... and what the heck is going on down here!!
Evenin' all! Astrologers all over the world are busy comparing charts - that of Vladimir Putin, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia's national chart, Ukraine's national chart, the date of the invasion of Ukraine, just to mention a few. Based on the premise 'As above, So below', astrologers look at the stars to try to chart patterns. Of course, one might ask whether what is written in one's birth chart is fixed and unchangeable. If you are born with a Sun Saturn aspect are you destined to always experience that throughout your life? It brings back the old argument of character versus destiny. Are we our charts?
Let's look at Volodymyr Zelenskyy's chart. This guy was an actor, a comedian, who became the President of Ukraine and who currently enjoys (though I think he rather wishes he didn't) hero status. Look at his natal Sun; it is conjunct Venus. This aspect is what makes him so charming, and I don't think anyone would deny that. Both as an actor and also a politician, he draws in the crowds. That Sun Venus conjunction opposes Mars in fiery Leo (could be about fiery 'words'). His natal Moon is in fiery Leo AND close to the IC. He is very proud of his home(land) and will take responsibility for it (Saturn in 4th house - this represents the home/clan).At the moment, Saturn, the planet associated with responsibility, is crossing over his Midheaven - the highest point in the chart - your public persona: he has taken on quite a mantle hasn't he?
President Putin's chart is also very interesting. His natal Sun is in the 12th house, the house of hidden things. This man is ex-KGB and knows how to be creative (Sun conj.Neptune) and a master of creating illusions. The Sun and Saturn are very close together in Libra (Saturn in Libra is very well placed), with Pluto (think power) at the highest point in the chart, very close to the South Node. This speaks of having knowledge that comes from the past; indeed, it seems as though he wishes to restore the former glory of his country, to his eyes anyway. Pluto on the Midheaven speaks of immense power. Another person I know of with this placement is the husband of an astrologer friend, whose profession it was to decommission nuclear submarines. Comparing their charts is an interesting exercise. Putin's Pluto is close to Zelenskyy's Saturn. Zelenskyy's Pluto is close to Putin's Saturn. What does this mean? Whose chart is stronger?
I won't make any prognosis as I don't feel qualified. What I will say is that Zelenskyy's Saturn at 28 degrees of Leo is conjunct the royal star Regulus. His natal Mars is also out-of-bounds; it has a kind of 'wild card' energy to it. Let's see how that plays out.
Putin's chart does not have any connections to royal stars, but it does connect to some that indicate good fortune. Moreover, both Mars (like Zelenskyy), and the Moon, are out-of-bound; two 'wild card' planets. Mars represents warrior energy, the Moon, one's emotional responses.
Both leaders seem to be fated to 'meet' each other, at least on the political scene. Let's see how this plays out.
Let's look at what is going on in the sky at the moment. Both Venus and Mars were in Capricorn, where Mars was very well placed. In a previous post I commented that it is unusual for Mars and Venus to be travelling together in the sky for an extended period, but this month they are conjoined for a little while (two weeks at least). Today, these two planets moved into the sign of Aquarius where Mars is not as powerful; he is a visitor with no special credentials, just like Venus is. From a cold earth sign where Mars has special status, Mars is now in an air sign (Aquarius is associated with ideas and innovation). Jupiter and the Sun are also occupying the same space in the sky: what is special about this aspect is that Jupiter rules the sign of Pisces (in traditional astrology), and therefore the Sun is visiting the house whilst the 'King' is in. Jupiter is known as being upbeat, and gives good vibes to anything it touches. The thing is, it could be a bit over the top too.
I hope you enjoy reading these articles. Hopefully they are not too technical for non-astro folk to read. Leave a comment and let me know.
