One year on.... Happy Birthday, Blog!

 

I realised this morning that this blog is actually one year old as of the 5th August 2021! In one year, I've posted a total of 41 articles, the most popular being my  post on the autumnal equinox of 2021. Just as we all have birth charts, so do 'things' and events. One thing astrologers like to do is to get the exact timing of events, for example, when a new government is sworn in, or when a child is born. My blog was born on the 5th August 2021 at 00:37, and its 'birth chart' is very revealing. Writing is usually ascribed to Mercury, as god of communication. According to the blog's birth chart, Mercury was in Leo, at the time, conjunct the Sun, and in the 4th house. Leo is a sign associated with creativity, and the 4th house has to do with the home; put it together, and you'd have the perfect description of expressing one's creative impulses from within the home, or, home would be the perfect environment to exchange ideas and information. Also, both Venus and Mars are in the 5th house of personal creativity and are ruled by Mercury (which rules Virgo and is associated with writing). It seems that it was a good time to launch this blog. 

Here's to another fruitful year. According to the solar return chart (that, in astro lingo. refers to how astrologers cast the chart for when the Sun returns to its natal position), this coming year could be promising. The Sun (the heart of the matter) is on the Ascendant - and therefore can be seen, suggesting that the blog might actually be more visible to others. A nice effect to is the master of communication, Mercury, is in Virgo, a sign associated with writing and writers, a sign it rules. Here's to that (clinking of glasses)!

  Tomorrow's Full Moon is a lunar eclipse, heralding the eclipse season for 2024. It occurs at 08:00 and will not be visible from our part of the world.  One thing to note is that due to precession, the zodiac and the constellations are out of synch by about 30 degrees, so whilst we say that the Moon is in the sign of Libra, the Moon will appear in the sky with Virgo as its backdrop. New Moon in Leo.... and more (read on).

  Are you feeling the heat? Astrologically, a new moon is all about implementing new plans, bringing others to a close and setting new intentions. Although this is stated in each of the blog posts, they are not the same for each new moon in a year. A new moon in Cancer is not the same as a new moon in Pisces, though theoretically they are both water signs. What you may find is that if you keep a personal journal, during the Leo New Moons period the same issues generally tend to crop up. Solar Eclipse and its links to 1501....

  And here it is... the chart for the New Moon in Aries, also a total solar eclipse. I've been reading a lot of different takes on this eclipse. Let me explain why there are different views on it.  Fact number one: different astrologers will have different takes on it depending on what they see in the chart. That is why astrology is not only a science, but also an art. This is why I suggest reading a variety of interpretations of astrological perspectives on this eclipse (or any other, for that matter) and see what you can take from it.  Fact number two: eclipses do not affect everyone in the same way.
