An Eclipse and a King
This evening, at 7:34pm, a lunar eclipse in the turbulent sign of Scorpio will grace the heavens. What is remarkable about this particular lunar eclipse is not only the fact that it is occurring some hours before a much awaited coronation of a king, but also because this supercharged Full Moon lunation makes so many aspects to Charles Mountbatten-Windsor's own personal chart. Read on to find out more about that, but first, local matters. The chart on the left gives us a picture of the lunation as it occurs Malta time. It's interesting have a look at how it impacts the charts of people, or nations or even events.
A lunar eclipse typically blots out the Sun which means that Sol (Sun) will be hidden for a few minutes. If you think about this, it suggests that something will be hidden and the emotions (traditionally linked to the Moon) will take precedence. Furthermore, this eclipse occurs in the zodiac sign of Scorpio - that sign which talks about hidden things or secrets, and also transformation. This is the sign traditionally linked with the Eighth House (other people's resources, death and rebirth). If you have any planet in Scorpio, then, you would most likely experience issues to do with being challenged to transform something in your inner reality, something which lies beneath and needs to be dealt with. It is about shadow work, where you confront an issue that has been controlling you through your unconscious tendencies.
So have a look at where Scorpio rules your chart. If Scorpio is found in your 1st house, then look at how you project your image to the outside world; 2nd house - your values and personal resources; 3rd house - your immediate environment, siblings and communication (writing, paperwork); 4th house - your clan and your home; 5th house - personal creativity and children; 6th house - daily chores and how your serve others; 7th house - relationships, business or otherwise; 8th house - other people's resources, money, transformation; 9th house - higher learning, travel, publishing and horses; 10th house - career, public status; 11th house - creativity on behalf of organisations and groups; 12th house - the subconscious, working behind the scenes in areas to do with vocations. To given an example, in King Charles' own personal chart, the eclipse occurs over his 4th house, so this speaks of dealing with emotions (Moon) handed down to him through generations (4th House) of emotional patterning.
The things to remember about today's Full Moon eclipse is not to externalise those emotions and project them onto others. Also, conversely, do not internalise events; just be aware of what's at play. If something or someone is pressing your buttons, ask yourself why.
Scorpio is a highly charged sign and can be quite magical if we work with this lunation. Remember that transformation can happen only when we shine a light on what's hidden, a bit like finding a hidden treasure.
On a national level, that Full Moon literally 'sit's on Malta's Neptune. This is a national chart and Neptune in mundane charts can signify the way a country is creative (5th House) through the Arts, or even politics. This Full Moon is about hidden things, Scorpio is about secrets (other people's resources), so one does wonder whether we are given some kind of spectacle (the Arts) in order to deflect from what is really going on. Let's face it, many things have yet to come to light.
All eyes on tomorrow's coronation. King Charles will be crowned with his queen. The coronation will take place at 11:00am BST. KCIII will be the 40th monarch to be crown at Westminster Abbey since 1066, when William the Conqueror was crowned on the 25th December at 12:00 noon.
There was a very specific reason why William was crowned on Christmas Day at noon: it was to show the English that he had some kind of connection with the Christ and also, any astrologer would have advised the time of midday; the Sun is at its highest declination and astrologically, it places William in a position of complete authority and kingship. A court astrologer must have been consulted at the time as this would have been an excellent choice of time to crown a king. Crowning a new monarch a day after a lunar eclipse would never have been considered those days.
Charles' coronation chart (6th May 2023 at 11:00am) is rather different. First of all, the Sun conjoins Uranus, suggesting that Charles will do his 'kingship' rather differently. We do know that the coronation ceremony will be different to that of his predecessors as it will a multi-faith ceremony. Secondly, the ruler of the chart is Venus, which, at 27 degrees of Gemini is out of bounds (beyond the declination of 23*15') and so is a bit of a wild card; this is the degree where one finds the fixed star Polaris, the one which shows 'the way', a guiding star. Mercury is retrograde, which is always a sign that the King (the Sun) is not receiving clear information. This, a day after the Full Moon eclipse in Scorpio which is about undercurrents (hidden things controlling the situation). Ouch!
All things seem to be pointing to the fact that King Charles will, in some way, be a conduit for big changes in the way 'The Firm' is run. First of all, at the time of the coronation, Uranus is conjunct the 'King' (Sun) in the 10th house. Uranus is the planet associated with innovation and change. Furthermore, Venus in the coronation chart 'meets' Uranus at 28*/29* Gemini in both King Charles' and Queen Consort Camilla's chart. The last degree of any zodiac sign is called the 'anaretic' degree and portends change, or that the native will experience change, having completed a cycle of learning/gain wisdom. One last word about this; the name of the lunar goddess, Diana, is silently present at this coronation.
Back to our little island, what about our own version of a crowned monarch? Our own Prime Minister's natal chart (working on date of birth available in the public domain, no time of birth available) gets a touch of the lunar eclipse in that his natal Uranus is activated, so unexpected events may present themselves, necessitating taking a different approach to problem-solving. Sudden problems cropping up, or hidden things coming to light, would be typical of how this may occur. The PM's chart is linked with the Malta national chart through Neptune, which has a connection to politics. RA was born with a Sun-Neptune conjunction, whilst the Malta chart is experiencing some Neptune related events (transiting Neptune conjunct Malta MC, Full Moon eclipse conjunct Malta's Neptune). As the designated PM, this may affect him directly: as previously thought, some problems could crop up and affect his office. As above, so below.
Finally - just watch your words, be vigilant of your thoughts. Don't blow your emotions out of proportion during this full moon.
I hope you enjoy reading this.
