The Heavenly Lovers.... and a Full Moon in Virgo

Welcome to the Virgo Full Moon of the 24th February 2024 at 5 degrees. The exact moment of the Full Moon occurs during the day, so you will have to wait until after sunset to see that fabulous moonrise in the east.

As always, the Full Moon is the culmination of all those intentions set at the New Moon fourteen days earlier. These past few weeks have been nothing short of explosive: Mars, which travels faster as it has a smaller orbital path, met Pluto on its travels around the Sun on the 13th February, just nine days ago. This Mars-Pluto conjunction at 0 degrees Aquarius combines the fiery energy of Mars with the harbinger transformative energy of Pluto. So if any one of you celebrated your birthday around the 13th February, this year you may find yourself making changes. What type? Anything that involves you.

The real star of the show is the 'heavenly lovers' i.e. Venus and Mars who are meeting in the sky for a little tryst. Although this is not a rare event, it is something that has been immortalised in art. Here, Venus, representing beauty and valour, is wearing classical dress whilst Mars, who represents war and fatigue, sleeps. It seems that Venus can control Mars' fiery aspect buy indulging him in bed. However, with both planets in Aquarius, Venus' love is not 'soft' and 'sweet',

but cold and distant. If you watch what is going on in the world of diplomacy on the world stage, you get the picture. Instead, wake up early to see these two planets; they rise before the Sun, in the east.

Back to our Full Moon in Virgo. The Moon opposes the Sun, Mercury and Saturn in Pisces.  On the one hand we have a grounded and focused Moon which counters a stubborn but compassionate Sun, Moon and Mercury. Watch out for polarised arguments around this Full Moon time.

Onto something different.....on the 24th February 1987 a star up to 20 times the mass of our Sun exploded and went supernova. Another little star was born that day, and he'll be 37 tomorrow; my son. Two days ago, it was reported that scientists have discovered that a neutron star was born of that blast which was visible in the southern hemisphere for weeks way back then.

I hope you enjoy reading this.
Blessings,
Cindy
