Taurus New Moon and Venus as Lucifer the Morning Star
A New Moon in Taurus graces our skies early morning on the 8th May 2024.
The New Moon always speaks of the end of one lunar cycle and the opportunity to work with a new 'story board', so to speak. Taurus is always about stability; it is a fixed sign and also an earth sign. It is about maintaining the status quo. A New Moon in Taurus asks us to sit down and become aware of the resources we have or perhaps need in order to grow. Set your intentions in preparation for the Full Moon later on in the month.
So let's see what story the sky is offering us. The New Moon in Taurus is accompanied by two planets, Uranus and Jupiter. These two planets accompany what we call the two 'lights' (Sun and Moon) and offer us the opportunity to 'break the mould' or perhaps do things differently (for a less dramatic expression) and also cautiously (Taurus likes stability). Taurus represents that which we attach value to. But there's more.
Taurus is ruled over by Venus and is in Taurus, but not close enough to say it is conjunct the Sun and the Moon. In a few days, however, this planet will conjoin the Sun and thus begins another phase; she will not be visible as she rises with the Sun. She is now in her 'morning star' phase, known as Lucifer and possesses the quality of will and purpose. So the impetus to begin something new is there and you can tap into that simply by making new intentions.
One more thing - Jupiter is at 25 degrees of Taurus, the position occupied by the most malefic star in the heavens - Algol. This star represents repressed female anger (the Medusa story), apparently. I feel the need to point this out as Malta's national chart (the birth chart of this country - 21st September 1964) has Jupiter at this degree. As Jupiter takes 12 years to orbit the Sun, you will find Jupe at this degree once every 12 years. Consequently, the last time it transited this degree (around 25 degrees of Taurus) was in May 2012. At the time, the government of the day was tottering on its last legs (it in fact lost a general election the following year). I leave the rest to you - only time will tell.
Time is fleeting and I need to upload this article. I hope you enjoy reading it.
Blessings,
Cindy
