Pisces Lunar Eclipse - Seize the moment!

The Full Moon on the 18th September 2024 is also a lunar eclipse, and occurs in the mystical sign of Pisces, bringing with it a wave of emotional and spiritual transformation. By virtue of it being a lunar eclipse, the emphasis is on the emotional nature of our being and the astrological understanding is that it is an internal process. Having said that, all change first occurs within and then occurs outward. So let's have a look at this Full Moon chart and what it may mean.

Tomorrow's celestial event promises to be a powerful time for personal growth and healing as it activates Pisces' intuitive and dreamy energies. We must keep this in mind as there are a few aspects which, upon reading this blog post, may leave you breathless. Here's why.

If we look at the chart, the first thing we might notice is the position of the Moon at 25 degrees of the spiritual water sign of the fish. Neptune, the planet associated with idealism and delusion is right up there with the Moon at 28 degrees. This alone tells us that dreams may be pretty powerful, or that which we term 'reality' might seem a bit weird (ain't that the truth?).

The truth (sic) is that the Sun is also opposite Neptune, which explains the 'weirdness' of the times. In a natal chart, this aspect usually indicates that one's solar nature, one's energy, is depleted in some way, as Neptune 'dissolves'. It could also mean that the self is focused on soul-related matters (i.e. you tend to want to transcend the ego, a necessary prerequisite for life on mad Earth). This is why this event could be a portal to spiritual transformation.

Before that can happen, we need to look at a few things. Firstly, Mars, the celestial warrior is in Cancer and square the lunar nodes. Mars rules Aries (where the North Node is) but is currently transiting Cancer, a sign associated with hearth and home, or clan. Traditionally, Mars in Cancer is about defending the home and hearth and therefore has something of a warring aspect. Cancer is all about what home means, and given that it is part of the eclipse signature, we need to take into consideration that this  placement is part of a catalyst for profound change.

Here's another catalyst for change. The diagram displaying green highlighter shows how the planets Uranus and Pluto are involved in a kite formation together with the Sun opposite the Moon (plus Neptune). A kite aspect pattern involves having three planets 120 degrees away from each other (in this case the Sun, Pluto and Uranus) with a fourth planet in opposition - in this case the Moon (plus Neptune). So if we look at the three planets' characteristics, Uranus symbolising sudden change/rebellion, Pluto symbolising death/rebirth and the Sun being a solar quality, that which brings light all focused though the Moon/Neptune point, you might get a sense of something within demanding transformation, making us wake up and 'smell the coffee'. This is why this celestial event illuminates hidden truths and prompts introspection, making it a powerful time for personal growth and healing.

Wait! There's more! Mercury, the planet representing ideas and communication is in the sign of Virgo, a sign it rules. This is an extremely skeptical Mercury, one which looks at the small print of every contract. Natives with this placement are usually known for their ability to scrutinise everything. Think 'detective'. Directly opposite is Saturn which confers difficulty in being able to discern information. If you just think of how difficult it is to tell truth from lies when you read anything online (or offline) nowadays, you get the gist of it. According to Astrologyking.com, the combination of the Mercury-Saturn pessimism and the Sun-Moon-Neptune paranoia is not a positive vibe. I second that - especially in view of Mars' predisposition to defend what is considered sacred.

Last but not least, Venus, who at the moment fulfils the role of Hesperus the evening star. She is the first to become visible in the evening sky after sunset and the last one to disappear at sunrise. Venus is currently at 24 degrees LIbra (which it rules) and forms a 'Finger of Fate' aspect with the planets Uranus and Neptune. Briefly put, a combination of Uranus and Neptune focused through Venus in Libra is likely to involve  sudden change, and although not marked on the chart, aspects Jupiter (our lucky charm). Venus's charm enables us to make changes where necessary, and this should be evident by the 22nd September, when she completes her travels through the sign of Libra and is poised to enter Scorpio.

Overall, the lunar eclipse on September 18, 2024, is a potent catalyst for growth and change. By understanding and embracing the energies of Pisces, one can navigate this period with grace and emerge with a deeper awareness of oneself and one's place in the world. Remember to stay open to the insights which may come your way and trust in the transformative power of this celestial event.

I hope you enjoy reading this.

Blessings,

Cindy
