A Winter Solstice blog post

On the 21st of December 2024, at 10:20am, the Sun moves into the sign of Capricorn. Over the past three months, ever since the autumnal equinox, Planet Earth's wobble has tilted the northern hemisphere away from the Sun. Tomorrow, the Sun will reach it's maximum declination south of the equator (remember, it's the height of summer in the southern hemisphere) and will start moving towards the equatorial (the equator projected out into space).

So why is this chart is important enough for a blog post to be dedicated to it? This type of chart is called an Ingress Chart and is used in mundane astrology, which charts the progress of a place (in this case it is set for Malta) at the moment the Sun enters the sign associated with a solstice or an equinox. In short, the affairs of a nation can be judged by this type of chart and is one of the most ancient types of judged charts in astrology. The planets signify specific things; the Sun, the ruler of a nation; the Moon, its people, and so forth (see diagram). These types of charts usually indicate unfolding events lasting up to six months.

Let's unpack a few aspects that jump out at us in the Solstice Chart beginning with this: the Moon opposes Saturn. It is possible that the people (Moon) become concerned with health issues (first house) especially to do with the elderly. The 7th house (where the Moon is) also indicates foreign affairs, so possibly the Moon here signifies people from other countries who live on the island.

Tied into that Moon/Saturn formation are also the planets Mercury and Jupiter, which are also opposite each other. Mercury signifies communication, whilst Jupiter represents the judiciary, wealth (amongst other things). Jupiter is in the 4th house, which is also the house associated with the opposition in parliament. These two planets are found in signs opposite to their own, indicating that there could be some mutual agreement reached concerning issues mentioned above.
This Solstice chart also contains an aspect between Mars and Pluto. This has been going on for a few weeks now (see previous blog post and the 7th December chart). Mars occupies the 6th house, the house to do with public health. Given that the information described above seems to be focused on that, the opposition to Pluto (transformation) in the 12th house (part of the chart to do with institutions such as hospitals, prisons and the welfare state) further confirms this. Mars, however, is retrograde (doing what seems to be a backwards walk in the sky), so it is  likely there will be delays with this issue.

How does our nation's leader feel about all this? Well, in the Solstice Chart, the Sun is at the bendings ( meaning that it is half way between the two nodes of the Moon - the glyphs that look like horseshoes). The Sun/leader is very likely to feel challenged. The Moon's nodes are also occupying the 1st and 7th houses, while he himself occupies the 11th house (representing parliament here).

Now wouldn't it be interesting to cast the Solstice Chart for Washington, DC?

Well, that's enough for now. I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Wishing you all the best. Season's Greetings, y'all!
Cindy
