The Dance of the Lights and Planets at the Sag New Moon
Welcome to the New Moon in Sagittarius happening on Sunday, 1st December at 7:21am. Sagittarius, the ninth sign of the zodiac, is symbolised by the Archer, representing a quest for knowledge and adventure. Born between November 22 and December 21, Sagittarians are known for their optimism, independence, and love for exploration. They are ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion and growth, which fuels their desire for new experiences and philosophical pursuits. Sagittarians are often seen as enthusiastic, open-minded, and honest, sometimes to a fault. They thrive on freedom and are always ready for the next big adventure, making them natural travelers and lifelong learners. Their infectious energy and zest for life inspire those around them.
Sag is always fun after the deep emotional angst of Scorpio, right? After going through the Scorpio experience (remember that Scorpio is a fixed water sign), the Sag experience is one of mutable fire - ready to change and driven by the need to be creative. Sagittarius, a mutable fire sign, embodies adaptability and enthusiasm. Known for their adventurous spirit, Sag people are always seeking new experiences and knowledge. Their mutable nature allows them to easily adjust to change, while their fiery energy fuels their optimism and passion for life. They are natural explorers and lifelong learners.
So what does the New Moon have to offer us? Remember that new moons symbolise fresh beginnings, making them ideal for setting new intentions. Think of it as a blank slate, encouraging reflection and goal-setting. Whilst the Sun/Moon opposite Jupiter speaks of being overconfident and taking things for granted, Saturn at 90 degrees from both the Sun/Moon and Jupiter holds this in a tight balance, demanding taking responsibility and humility (see bright green lines). What results is a feeling of restriction, isolation and self-doubt. This is all Saturn! Mercury is retrograde, so it may be difficult to get the message across efficiently. Also in the chart is the ongoing Mars/Pluto opposition, which still holds. Mars is moving faster than Pluto and so soon will be out of Pluto's range. This is still quite powerful and the impulse to blow up (metaphorically) if someone crosses you is still there.
Venus, in the meantime, plays her part as the evening star, Hesperus. She can be seen in the western sky after sunset and, boy, is she sparkly! Just in time for Christmas too! In the meantime, she is trine (120*) Uranus (and Medusa), giving us the opportunity to participate in a harmonious blend of love and innovation. This aspect brings excitement and spontaneity to relationships, encouraging unconventional expressions of affection.
Let's put this all together then; we have the opportunity to set new intentions and the planetary influences are expansive (Sagittarius) though, though it would be wise to be cautious (Saturn). This makes sense in view of the Mars/Pluto dynamic, where we might just fly off the handle when our insecurities come into play. Words or actions expressed in anger can be perilous. Remember that Mercury, the planet associated with communication, is currently retrograde and messages could go awry. Indulge in something where creativity is at its optimum; Venus and Uranus allow us some playtime.Courtesy of Copilot
Eyes out for the Venus-Pluto conjunction on the 7th December, which opposes Mars, whilst the Sun opposes Jupiter to the degree and minute and the Moon approaches Saturn. I'll upload a blog post if something warrants looking it
I hope you enjoyed reading this,
