Leo Full Moon and the Heart of a Lion

This Leo Full Moon certainly packs a punch!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Leo Full Moon on the 12th February 2025 at 14:53. In astrology, the full moon symbolizes a time of culmination, illumination, and heightened emotions.  The full moon's energy amplifies intuition, making it a powerful moment for introspection and spiritual growth. It's also a period when the intentions set during the new moon come to fruition. The energy of the full moon encourages reflection, completion of projects, and release of what no longer serves us. Emotions run high, and hidden truths often come to light, providing clarity and insight. It is therefore an ideal time for rituals focused on letting go, forgiveness, and gratitude.

Full moons in the sign of Leo focus on self-expression, creativity, and confidence. Leo, a fire sign ruled by the Sun, is associated with passion, leadership, and a desire to shine. During this time, the energy encourages individuals to embrace their uniqueness, showcase their talents, and pursue creative endeavors. It's a period for celebrating achievements, seeking recognition, and enjoying moments of joy and playfulness. The full moon in Leo also emphasizes the importance of following the heart, nurturing self-love, and building self-esteem, making it an ideal time for personal growth and manifesting one’s true potential.

This Full Moon does pack a punch - and you'll have Uranus to thank for that! Let's have a look at the story the sky offers at this Leo Full Moon.

As you can see, there are a few things going on in the Full Moon chart. The Mars-Saturn trine is marked in yellow and the Moon-Sun-Uranus configuration is highlighted in green. Venus is also marked as being the highest planet in the sky at the moment of the Full Moon.

The Moon opposite Sun square Uranus configuration during the Leo Full Moon brings a dynamic mix of emotions and unexpected changes. This aspect highlights tension between personal desires and the need for freedom and innovation. Emotions may feel heightened and unpredictable, leading to sudden mood swings and a desire for spontaneity. While this usually marks a time to embrace creativity, break free from routine, and seek new experiences, it's also important to stay grounded and communicate effectively to navigate the emotional ups and downs. This configuration encourages embracing individuality and finding joy in the unexpected.

The Mars trine Saturn connection, also part of today's sky story, brings a harmonious blend of energy and discipline. Mars represents drive, courage, and action, while Saturn symbolizes structure, responsibility, and perseverance. This allows for ambitious efforts to be channeled into productive and focused endeavors. It's also an excellent time for tackling challenging tasks, demonstrating persistence and achieving long-term goals. The disciplined influence of Saturn tempers Mars' impulsiveness (even though Mars is out-of-bounds - a 'wild card' vibe), promoting strategic planning and efficient use of resources. This encourages determination, making it ideal for projects requiring sustained effort and resilience. Do try not to be reckless, though, given that Mars has extra impulse-power tonight.

Ultimately, the Full Moon in Leo is about the lion's heart. If you look at the picture, you'll see that the fixed star Regulus is pretty close (in degrees, not in distance) to the moon .You can easily view this celestial event by looking at the eastern horizon just after sunset. The full moon will rise alongside Regulus, the brightest star in the constellation Leo, also known as the "Heart of the Lion."

So although this month's full moon is a harbinger of chaos, change (Sun/Moon square Uranus) and initiative (Mars/Saturn) we need to approach it creatively (Leo Moon).

I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Blessings,

Cindy
