The March Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon....and more

Image
Tomorrow's Full Moon is a lunar eclipse, heralding the eclipse season for 2024. It occurs at 08:00 and will not be visible from our part of the world.  One thing to note is that due to precession, the zodiac and the constellations are out of synch by about 30 degrees, so whilst we say that the Moon is in the sign of Libra, the Moon will appear in the sky with Virgo as its backdrop. For the scope of this chart reading, I will be referring to the Moon as being in the sign of Libra.  So how does this eclipse affect us mortals? By looking the chart, we assess which planet is making an aspect to another. Because the chart changes according to time and place (for example, in London, this eclipse occurs at 07:00, and therefore the Ascendant and Midheaven changes). The chart for this Full Moon is quite interesting. The most notable aspects are the Sun/Pluto sextile, the Venus/Jupiter sextile and the Moon/Pluto trine.  These are all harmonious aspects. Remember that this is...

The Power of this Pisces New Moon.

Image
As we approach the spring equinox, we come to the last New Moon of the zodiacal year - the Pisces New Moon at 20 degrees, which will grace our skies at 10:00 this morning.  Pisces is the sign associated with the two fish swimming in opposite directions, signifying the quality of this sign. It is a water sign and also a mutable sign. What does this mean?  The zodiac signs are not only classified as being water, air, fire and earth signs (the four elements) but also distinguished by the qualities - cardinal, fixed and mutable. Thus, any of the zodiac signs will embody the permutations of these two classes; Capricorn, for example, is an earth sign with a cardinal quality. Earth signs are practical. Cardinal signs 'initiate' things, fixed signs maintain the status quo, whilst mutable signs are flexible and go with the flow. Thus, Capricorn natives are practical with initiating ideas. In the case of Pisces, the notion of two fish swimming in opposite directions is very apt a...

The Heavenly Lovers.... and a Full Moon in Virgo

Image
Welcome to the Virgo Full Moon of the 24th February 2024 at 5 degrees. The exact moment of the Full Moon occurs during the day, so you will have to wait until after sunset to see that fabulous moonrise in the east.  As always, the Full Moon is the culmination of all those intentions set at the New Moon fourteen days earlier. These past few weeks have been nothing short of explosive: Mars, which travels faster as it has a smaller orbital path, met Pluto on its travels around the Sun on the 13th February, just nine days ago. This Mars-Pluto conjunction at 0 degrees Aquarius combines the fiery energy of Mars with the harbinger transformative energy of Pluto. So if any one of you celebrated your birthday around the 13th February, this year you may find yourself making changes. What type? Anything that involves you.   The real star of the show is the 'heavenly lovers' i.e. Venus and Mars who are meeting in the sky for a little tryst. Although this is not a rare event, i...

Of the Wood Dragon and a power-packed New Moon

Image
A New Moon in Aquarius graces our skies at two minutes to midnight on the 9th February 2024. Not only that, but it is also the Chinese New Year, but more about that later.  Aquarius is an air sign traditionally ruled by the planet Saturn. Between the last ten days of January (or thereabouts) until the 20th of February, the Sun will rise against the backdrop of the Water Bearer, Aquarius. We are moving away from the longest night towards Spring with singular vision. Hence, there is a sense of hope for the future, and therein lies the idea of Aquarius; vision, ideals and humanity.  Saturn is the only planet to rule two adjacent zodiac signs. The qualities Saturn possesses are unlike the constrictive nature of Saturn in Capricorn. In Aquarius, Saturn brings people together with ideas; it builds with ideas.  The co-ruler of Aquarius is Uranus, who has more of a rebellious nature (although Saturn would in Aquarius would also go against the grain for the good of others)....

Latest news on KCIII and the eclipses

I posted this in November '23. Today we hear that HM King Charles III (or Charles Mountbatten-Windsor  to some) has been diagnosed with a serious illness.  To begin with, KCIII has a Sun/Mars conjunction in his SR chart for this year and this augurs well in that his vitality (Sun) has the energy of Mars. With Uranus opposite, he may (notice that nothing is fixed, the word used here is 'may') have to deal with issues which are unexpected. Running his Secondary Progressed chart (another predictive tool) confirms that he may indeed have to deal with unexpected challenges which crop up (progressed Uranus conjunct progressed Midheaven - indicating sudden change to status/career). We shall just have to wait and see how that pans out.  https://sisistars.blogspot.com/2023/11/full-moon-in-gemini-and-other-things.html  It is rather interesting that the British royal family has a history with eclipses. Charles and Diana got married in July 1981 under the shadow of an imp...

Full Moon in Leo and Pluto

Image
Full Moon in Leo this evening at 18:53. You should see it rising over the eastern horizon. it's quite cloudy today so I imagine that we shan't be getting a clear view of the stars.  Full Moons are about the culmination of intentions set at the New Moon, two weeks ago in the sign of Capricorn. If Capricorn was all about building, Leo is about the emotional satisfaction of being the main character in your own play. There are, however, a few things you need to keep in mind.  Let's look at the story the sky is offering us at this Full Moon.  First and foremost, we need to talk about that Sun/Pluto conjunction. As the planets travel around the Sun, every year there will be a time when the Sun is conjunct the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto). It is not every day that Pluto changes sign, however, and it certainly isn't every day when Pluto changes sign AND there is a full moon. So, if we look at the dynamics of this lunar cycle, we can see that any Sun/Moon/Pluto...

Pluto moves into Aquarius... time to change tack!

Image
This post is about Pluto. Yes, something 'big' is going on in the astrological skies. Pluto is moving sign - not something that happens every day as it is a very slow moving planet.  On the 21st January, at 01:56, this planet will move into the air sign of Aquarius. If Capricorn was the sign of big business, Aquarius is about how we, as a human race, move forward. This is quite a momentous time. Pluto has been stepping in and out of Aquarius since last year (retrograding back into Capricorn) and when it did enter Aquarius, we got AI. What Pluto in Aqua is about is rediscovering our humanity. Aquarius is about ideas, ideals, innovation and change. Just imagine Pluto, the planet associated with transformation there.... we will most definitely be challenged with changing how we view our ideologies. Pluto was in Capricorn from 2008 until now, and it challenged us on how we conducted business. Before that, when it was in Sagittarius, it all about how we viewed truth. Pluto will b...
